What is Cerebral Palsy

 

Cerebral palsy (CP) is caused by an injury to the developing brain; for most babies this occurs some time during the mother’s pregnancy. CP is a permanent disability that affects movement.

• Every 15 hours an Australian child is born with cerebral 
  palsy

• 1 in 2 children is in pain

• 1 in 3 children cannot walk

• 1 in 5 children cannot talk

• 1 in 10 has severe vision impairment
