Testimonials from FranchiseesTestimonial from Capalaba & Coorparoo, QLDIt all started 7 years ago, when I was hired for my first job as a kitchen hand at my local Eagle Boys (Hillcrest). I found an environment where employees work as a team to achieve amazing results. I enjoy the fast past atmosphere, the satisfaction on a Friday night at peak time the phones are ringing, toppings flying, the sound of the pizzas being cut hard and fast on the chopping board as the team pump out almost 200 pizzas an hour. This is when I first thought I wanted my own Eagle Boys store one day. I worked my way through the ranks from kitchen hand, trainee manager, assistant manger, store manager and a field training position at the National Office. In late 2005 I made the decision to buy my own franchise and use the knowledge that I had gained. Although with my experience I still made mistakes. Being in the Eagle Boys franchise system is a big bonus, being able to pick up the phone and talk to many other people that have been through the same situations. With out regret I’m now about to purchase my second store. Nathan Eagen
Testimonial from Atherton & Mareeba, QLDThey say the average 'life' of an eagle boys franchisee is approximately 5 years, so I guess by any means we are certainly not average, but the eagle boys pizza franchise is not any average franchise either. Having opened our first store way back in 1996 in Mareeba (our hometown) as a conversion, followed closely nine months later by our second store in the neighbouring town of Atherton I look back now and say 'wow we took on a lot', but oh the rewards. Eagle Boys franchising system has allowed us more personal freedom and life choices than ever imagined back in those very early nervous tentative days. To say that it has all paid off would be an understatement, I cannot recommend the National Office highly enough with their professionalism and support. Whenever we pick up the phone there is always help there no matter what time of the day or night. If you are thinking of joining the franchise don't think too long, just act! Jenny and Sibi Musumeci Testimonial from Ayr, QLDWhat a challenge! Along with my parents I have owned the Eagle Boys store at Ayr for 12 months. Initially it was very hard work as I had so much to learn. Even though I had worked in the fast food industry since I was 15, managing my own store at 21 and being totally responsible for everything was very different. The store has been very successful and I am continuing to learn. I am studying Commerce and Business degrees and I have found a high degree of correlation between the systems and practices in the store and the content I am learning about at uni. Uni is so much more interesting when you can see it in practice. The initial training and ongoing support and encouragement from the National Office team cannot be underestimated. Being so far away from head office has not been a disadvantage. The Business Franchise Manager is readily available and visits the store regularly and the National Office is only a phone call or an email away. The IT support is fantastic and the systems are easy to put in place and follow. I am continually encouraged to think about how I can improve and grow my business. I am regularly provided with data and statistics to help me analyse what is working and what isn’t. When I notice other franchisees are getting resultsthat I want, I have found them to be very willing to discuss their strategies and talk to me abouthow I can implement similar strategies. The National Officeencouragesthat sort of interaction. I have found a real sense of "colleague-ship" among other franchisees. I am looking forward to being associated with Eagle Boys for many years in the future. Meredith Daley Testimonial from Wodonga, VIC"My wife Sue and I opened a store through another pizza franchise company in Wodonga in September 1996. It was our first business venture, with both of us having come from a local government administration background. We believed that with our lack of business experience, and due to the competitive nature of the pizza industry, we needed to be part of a franchise operation. A franchise, we felt, would provide us with access to experience and knowledge in all areas of running a pizza business. To say we were disappointed with what we got from that company's franchise system would be an understatement. In 1998 we were fortunate to meet Tom Potter, and after several discussions we began to investigate Eagle Boys. We were allowed contact with Head Office staff in finance, marketing, construction, and operations and also Tom was available at all times to answer questions. We were now convinced that there was more to franchising than we had initially experienced, and after negotiations we were ready to convert. The conversion went smoothly with the help of the construction and training teams. There was 10 days down time during which our staff were trained and our store transformed. In the end, everything was covered with no surprises, and the conversion came in under budget. Our opening surpassed all expectations, with our first weeks trade as Eagle Boys an increase of approximately 100% on what we were trading under the previous franchise system. Sales settled at a point of approximately 60% higher than our previous figures. We can more than justify our decision to convert. It is with pleasure that we provide this testimonial as Eagle Boys has provided us with a change of lifestyle. The ongoing support, from the area managers to marketing, training and personnel is great, they are just a telephone call away, and the fact that Tom makes himself available at any time is evidence of his commitment to the chain and its franchisees." Testimonial from Hillcrest, Jimboomba, Logan, & Springwood, QLDI have always had a yearning for self employment and had run two home based businesses while employed in the finance industry. The experience from this plus 25 years of banking and helping to 'manage' other peoples businesses gave me a good background in the search for the ideal organisation to fulfil some of my goals. It is a big step to leave comfortable, secure employment and start working for yourself. Money has to be borrowed - the house has to be mortgaged (unless you get a big redundancy or win the lotto - unfortunately I wasn't lucky with either). There are risks to be taken. The risks have to be mitigated as much as possible. A franchise operation with stable long term backing, in a cash flow business, that has steady repeat customers, with good growth prospects, is what I knew Ineeded. I found that in Eagle Boys. Our family now operates four stores and there are plans for more in the very near future. I have a family business with over 90 staff currently, work from home, and have managers to run the stores. I am a long way down the road to achieving some of my short and long term goals. This has been made possible through a combination of hard work, family support and assistance from the Franchisor. If you are in the same position as I was a few years ago then maybe you should talk to Eagle Boys and see what you and Eagle boys can do together. Ken Johnson
Testimonial from Willetton & Canning Vale, WAI started as a kitchen hand at the Willetton store in 1996, making doughs, pizzas and serving customers. In 2001, at the age of 20 I decided to purchase my first franchise. The Eagle Boys system provided me with the necessary skills and support to be able to make a transition from working in the business to focusing on working on the business. One of thebest investments of my time was to complete the Eagle Boys head office and store training in Brisbane. I was able to focus on learning all the necessary skills required to run a business in an environment that allowed me to see the success of others when the systems are followed. With this experience on board, the Willetton store increased sales 200% within the first year by following marketing plans and systems all developed by Eagle Boys. I won young Entrepreneur of the year in 2004 thanks to all the improvements in sales and operations of this store. With the confidence of my first store success and the support of the franchise sales research and development team I purchased my second store Eagle Boys franchise in late 2004 (Canning Vale). Being a multi store operator has been surprisingly smooth. With a store manager in each store dealing with the day to day operations and staff I have been able to focus on continual development of both businesses. There has always been an open communication in Eagle Boys, with a well structured professional national office that are always willing to support you, franchise business managers in your store and fellow franchisees - the tools are always at your disposal. With the expansion plans of new stores these are very exciting times for Eagle Boys! I look forward to a continued rewarding relationship. Damien Langley
Testimonial from Beaudesert, QLDStarting a Micro-Store franchise was really a dream come true. We were able to start a business in our home town, where we were comfortable and knew the people. Eagle Boys National office was great, we were provided with excellent training and marketing systems to launch our own store. The ongoing support has been excellent and has enabled us to grow, learn and develop. Lance and Teresa Adams
Testimonial from Collie, WAOpening our second Eagle Boys Pizza franchise in Collie, Western Australia has been so far both rewarding and satisfying as we always had faith in this site. The on-going support from Eagle Boys Head Office has been appreciated and assisted in the successful launch of our new store. The financial success of this store will now help us to look at possibly our third store within the next twelve months, ahead of schedule. Russell and Karen Dononvan
Testimonial from Jindalee & Redbank Plains, QLDAs a current franchisee, I was extremely excited with the opportunity of opening a Drive-thru store at Redbank Plains. It not only has allowed us to obtain great market share immediately of traditional pizza customers, but, has allowed us to obtain market share from other take away businesses. The operationsare no more involved than with a nondrive-thru store and the cost was almost equal to a same size store without a drive-thru. The biggest surprise is how many family's use this service. It enables parents to leave their children buckled in, order dinner, pay eftpos and be home all in around ten minutes without leaving the comfort of their car. David Parkinson
Testimonial from Dubbo, NSWI have been afranchisee with Eagle Boys for the past 5 years and during that time have seen many people come and go. Having worked in Eagle Boys stores for 7 years previously it was a great learning curve to finally take on the role as a Franchisee. This role has been made all that much easier by the network of not only National Office but all the franchisees who even though they might have different opinions to mine, were able to listen and discuss openly. I have made many life time friends in the Eagle Boys franchise network and look forward to making many more. Thanks Eagle Boys. Will Cody Testimonial from Scone, NSWOpening an Eagle Boys Pizza franchise at Scone NSW has been the most rewarding and satisfying adventure of my life. The professional training and on-going support from Eagle Boys Head Office has moulded me into being a very competent Franchisee, having no prior experience in the pizza industry. My financial success has now opened many doors for me and my family and will continue to do so in the future. The experience, enjoyment & excitement I have had in owning my own franchise has been very rewarding. Rob Maude
